My dad and I will be there on Saturday. Look for an ATV for be running around and that will be us. My dad's hips bug him too much to be walking all day.

I hate to miss that one. It would be a great bike ride up and back. But riding up to Petersburg, VA to get the 6,000 service done on my BMW. Plus have to get the Camaro ready to run with the big boys done at CMP next weekend. Oh, there is no motor limits there :-) Maybe it will make it more than 4 laps?

I sure hope so. You really need a break from the bad luck. New clutch?

Yup, the clutch came apart. When I pulled the bellhousing, pieces were jammed into the pressure plate. So a new Sach's clutch and pressue plate are in. More lightening of the car and it is ready for CMP.

Running HPDE-3 on a track I have not seen before....

I will probably go to the AMA Superbike races at VIR in August.

First why are you paying somebody to do the 6000 mile service, second why petersburg? Do you know something about Capital that I don't?

I am not paying anyone (maybe a few beers). My brother is going to teach me how to do the valves and the injectors. Since my R1150 R does not have ABS, no reason to go to the dealer and fork out $500.

As for Capital, if I had a serious issue I would entertain Adventure BMW up in Virginia Beach as an alternative.

Can your brother bleed an intregal abs system? I had to replace my master cylinder and downloaded 14 pages (note joking) of notes on how to do it. I am conerned that so much air has been introduced into the system I may not be able to get a good bleed. Getting the 814lb girl to the dealer will not be fun if I can't get it done. I have kind of table the issue until I get done at VIR next weekend. I am doing alot to my car, at least trying to, before then.

From what my brother told me and what I read on the R1150R forums, bleeding the BMW ABS system is best left to the dealer. When the time comes, maybe we can work together to get your bike to Capital BMW for that.

By the way, sold my F650 to a guy in Charlotte. It lasted about 3 hours out on craigslist :-) I am taking it down to him when I head to CMP. On the return trip I might be bringing back a Honda CBR599.

I've heard rumors to that affect. :P Bullitt proof P/S pump? That roll bar will do you no good in the paddock working on that P/S pump again.

A friend of mine passed her MSF class last weekend. So she is comping at the bit for a motorcycle. If you think shopping for clothes with women is bad, try shopping for a motorcycle.

It was tempting to sell her my 650. But my motto, never sell to family or friends.

I like the Honda CBR's. There is one for sale in Wake Forest, but it was a little too expensive for a first bike. I think it is still available. The owner's husband is planning to bring his Z car out to HPDE's in the near future.

So if you can't make it to VIR ...

Speed is showing Saturday's race on a tape (do they still use "tape"?) delay at 8:30PM that evening.

Sunday's race will be shown live at 1PM on Speed.

Of course, there is always the risk of a possible pre-emption by something important happening in Nascar ... like a yellow flag being thrown in the closing laps :-)
