So imagine you're going to live in Portugal. You find a lovely farm
house
set on a decent plot of land. The place has been empty for 15 years...

While exploring your new property you find a large barn. The door is
padlocked and welded shut and it's all rusted solid. So you grind the
padlock and
the welds off and.........

 I would probably fall over if I found that. I find it amazing how people collect cars and just stuff them in a barn somewhere, never to be used.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I'd be pretty pissed. I mean think about it...someone is going to have to clean all those things and then fix them up! That's gonna cost a lot.

I tried to dig around to find out the backstory, but unfortunately I am unable to find much in the way of real info. Apparently these photos seem to have been floating around since early this year or late last year.

Someone said that they were originally sourced from this place... http://www.interclassico.com/ which looks to be a Portuguese dealer of exotic and collector cars. But that the original photos have been since taken down due to the owner of the cars wanting to remain anonymous and/or not have to deal with all of the questions about the cars.

One rumor was that these cars were purchased by a Portuguese doctor in the 1980's and that the building was locked up sometime in the 1990's. I find it highly suspicious that someone would buy a tract of land that had a barn on that was welded shut and that they didn't know what was inside prior to purchasing the property.

Regardless, there can't be many of these secret stashes to be found these days. I seem to remember a recent story about an excentric rich guy in Florida that has a building full of rare unrestored cars and he was not paying his property taxes on time. It was thought that it would all go at a tax sale, but the guy showed up at the last moment and paid his taxes.

It would be worth cleaning off all of the guano on each of them to call them my own.

Yeah, this find has been all over the net. :D I believe they must be stolen. Also, the latest model in there seems to be a '60s VW Beetle, although the pictures aren't working in all the threads anymore..they must have been in there a while...

The photos of that barn show it to be pretty much out in the open and impossible to miss. Do we really think that someone sold/bought the property without knowing what was in that huge building? I suspect that the "we just found this after we bought the property" was invented as it sounds like a story we want to believe.

I actually know very little about vintage cars, but I think one of the Lotus models (Seven Series 4) is from the early 1970's and there looks to be at least one 1970's American cars. I don't recognize anything newer than that.
