It is too bad the manual on the M models are an extra cost option. I expect that will become the the industry standard eventually.

I honestly can't see the need for a semi-auto trans that shifts in 2 milliseconds in a road car. I wonder how often M5 and M6 owners actually use the manual mode. Although, I could see having an SMG trans in my race car. :)

I sincerely hope this only applies to the BMW, and not MINI's as well, otherwise, you can just add that to an ever growing list of reasons I don't like the R56. . .

someone on NAM (mini forums) pointed out correctly that the press release date is indeed April 1st, perhaps (hopefully) this is just a BAD april fools joke?
