Full story above, here's a snippet of THSCC'er Rex Deffenbaugh's comments about the latest plague on society- Yankee's in Cary and their Illegal poker games!!! Oh, the humanity!!!!!!

But Rex Deffenbaugh, owner of Happy Jap's Auto Repair in the next bay over, said he had seen people coming and going for more like a year. Several days a week, they'd start arriving by 5:30 p.m., he said. He couldn't see what they were doing but began to suspect.

To get into the game, it seemed to him, "You had to be a Yankee, and you had to smoke at least two packs of cigarettes a day."

In the mornings, he said, the covered entry he shared with his neighbors was "paved with cigarette butts." The trash was his only complaint, Deffenbaugh said. "I never felt threatened by anything that was going on over there."

These kinds of gathering are infringing on the state's legal gambling! It is fine for the government to have their own gambling. The government probably thinks these kinds of games are attributing to the 26% shortfall in their projected income for the NC "Education" Fund. It is ok if we gamble for the children!

hehe, I always refer to the lottery as a tax on stupidity, and find it terribly ironic that education is funded by the "stupid" tax.

I like what Penn Jillette said in opening their show in Vegas:
"Welcome to the city built on bad math! All these signs on the Casinos advertising WE PAY 98%! doesn't mean you're going to win, they are telling you they are going to take your money 2% at a time until you are broke! You give me 100.00 of your money and I'm going to give you 98.00 back! And people believe that's a good deal!"
