Anyone else going to the karting that Tim Peele posted on the mailing list? I talked to mark underwood (organizer) and he mentioned there are quite a few tarheelers going. Anyone wanna caravan to VIR tommorow morning/afternoon?

Yea, I was too late as well. If anyone ever needs warm bodies for karting at VIR...I'm always interested since I only live 50 mintues away and so is Chris, Donnie, and often Reid Allred. We ran the twin-engines up there earlier and had a blast.

I'd be up for that too. How many people are typically needed to get the place for a day? How much would it cost?

At one point Kevin Allen was collecting names for a THSCC karting day but I'm not sure if it ever went anywhere. I'm certain Tarheel could find 12-15 people to run an afternoon, if the price was under $100.

well the "package" it seems for tomorrow is a saturday morning thing. this is from the email sent out..
"The cost of $1125 per package works out to $75/per person, assuming we have 15 people at the event."

thats for 3 hours.. it compares that to the "normal" $80 per person for 1 hour.. i dont know what package the $80 price is..

Yeah, we never did get together to discuss planning something. Plus, the rallyx came up around the same time, there were only a few dates that would work for the club this year for karting, and some of those wouldn't work for me, etc. etc. etc. - so it kindof fizzled out.

Hopefully a few of us can get together and discuss what needs to happen to get this going. We were actually talking about having a karting "series" but I don't know how serious that was. With all the other stuff going on next year - autox, rallyx, track, maybe working a little more on weekends because they just got rid of 60% of the people where I work :( - I don't know how many karting events I'd be able to do. But I definitely want to do more than zero...

Have fun tomorrow, and tell me all about it tomorrow night!

Kevin
