Geneva preview: More power for 350Z
13 Feb 07 16:07
The new Z has its engine revised to give 313bhp at 6,800rpm and 264lb-ft of torque at 4,800rpm; the maximum engine speed has been increased to 7,500rpm. Further modifications include a dual intake system, improved variable-valve timing, a stiffened crank and an increase in the compression ratio, all adding up to boosted low and mid-range torque, reduced vibration, more efficient ignition and a lower centre of gravity for the engine.
The Z's bonnet has been redesigned to accommodate the new engine, but otherwise, the Z is little changed. There are three new colours on offer - Temper Orange with a green 'flip', Precision Grey and Night Blue - and an optional Frost Grey interior. Active headrests are added to the seats. Deliveries of these new models start in May.
