I don't mean to steal the club's thunder, but I am reminded that Ferodo has been a premier sponsor of my slot car track for years!

Hm. I see a crossover, four standard curves, a straight 'C' and probably a start-finish 'D'. Along with the figures and pits, it's unmistakeably Scalextric. Pretty rare in this country. The on-track car looks like a Scalextric, but the ones in the pits are probably not...? Fly perhaps?

I haven't had mine set up for a couple of years since we moved into the current apartment, unfortunately. It'll be back up again sometime, when it can get enough dedicated space again. :)

Yep - you guessed it pretty much correct! Its a Scalextric 1/32 layout. I built in up to make it look like a vintage layout by buying old layout buildings on Ebay and restoring them. I have cars from Fly, Scalextric, Monogram, etc.. I'm glad to hear there are more slot car junkies out there. More pic's online here:

This is the simple track I keep in my race car trailer:

I have a Scalextric set and so does my brother. My stuff is currently in a box, but my brother and I built a track at his house. We also made a "autocross course" out of a 4x8 sheet of mdf. I had every intention of bringing it to the Christmas Party, but decided to drive the Mustang instead, obviously it wouldn't fit in the Mustang.

Our uncle, Weird Jack, got us back into slot cars a few years ago. He has a cottage business making and selling silicone race rubber in both slicks and vintage treads. He also makes resin cockpits and scenic bits.

Here's his site.

Sorry for the continued thread hijack.

Aw, the original Ferodo thread has been continued in another forum, so don't feel bad about the hijack. Heck, I started it with the pic of my slot car track.

His Old Wierd Jack site is great - sounds like a interesting guy to have as an uncle. I wonder where this picture came from? Makes my layout look like crap!

Mark,

That is one of his old tracks. It has since been dismantled for a move and the new layout is different. I'll see if I can get some pics if the new one.

Old Wierd Jack is a great guy. He is actually who we named my youngest son after.

You are right, he is a great guy to have as an uncle.

I will post some pics of my layout.

Absolutely post pic's. We may have to have some kind of THSCC Slot Car get together at some point.

Thanks to whoever moved our discussion to its own thread.
