Mugen Road to Racing Civic Concept @ 2007 Tokyo Auto Salon
Mugen rolled out this very raunchy Civic sports sedan at the Tokyo Auto Salon custom and tuner show, then frustratingly proceeded to say as little as possible about it. As the best known, most highly rated Honda tuner in the business, Mugen’s normally only too happy to talk about all the cool stuff bearing its name. But this time, curiously, corporate lips stayed firmly closed and showgoers were left to guess what this “Road to Racing Concept” was really all about.
On the face of it, it looked uncannily similar to the Mugen Civic Dominator concept that turned up at the Auto Salon a year back. Same styling, same color, same mission. That ‘06 Dominator model ran with a supercharged version of Honda’s famous K20A four cylinder twin cam screamer, producing a claimed 300 brake horsepower. So does this 2007 Mugen Civic run with the same package? Maybe yes, maybe no. Maybe it’s just another show tease, but one way or another, Mugen isn’t saying. At least, not right now….
