There are some pretty big pics there; they used the 3.0L Duratec from a Lincoln LS, pretty much the same as the Taurus/Sable/Escape engine. Who's in the mood for a 200 RWHP NA Miata?

I'm thinking more along the lines of 5.0L myself, but 3.0L would be cool too...

Sorry to interrupt the Miata flow of this thread, but along the same lines of cramming massive engines into tiny cars, here's a link to Bill Strong's website. His latest project is a 1st gen MR2 with an all aluminum, 4 cam, 32 valve 4.6L Northstar V8  It should be pretty interesting when it's all said and done.

That sounds like a Miata that would make a great drag car or street sleeper. But the front/rear weight ratio would be terrible for a track car. I would think in a Miata a wild 4cyl with a supercharger would be fun. Look at Jim's car with the turbo. Pretty darn quick.

MazdaSpeed will be launching the new MX5 Turbo on Jan 5. About 175HP, I think. Maybe 26-27 Thou, with all the creature comforts that will be included. Would be nice if thay did a stripped version!
