any of you drivers out there successfully battled and won over roof mold? I don't want to power wash it, cuts into the shingles too much. Any luck with over the counter chemicals? I have a brew that I used on my camper when I had it. Was thinking about putting it into one of those high powered water guns and spraying the roof in the spring before it gets too hot again, but I'm in my planning stages now.

Let me know what you've done, what chemicals used and ease of application.

I used American Roof Brite, I think. Yes it was expensive but they used environment friendly chemicals and no power washer. Roof looks great. i have a very steep roof that I would not want to get on.

I know that there are some thing you can buy at the paint stores that do not have bleach in them that you could try.

real "solution" is to cut back shading trees or move to a drier climate.
10% bleach should not affect shingles. Spray it on with a garden sprayer, rinse off with hose angled up over the roof so you don't force water under the shingles.
If the mold is at the edges and shingles are swelling (getting thicker) then chemicals are not the answer, it's time for a new roof. (My father was a roofer)
