While we're talking about movies, does anyone else have an electronic movie collection that they would want to trade with me for mine? You know, so we can preview each others' movies to decide which ones to buy? I have about 30 titles, and a bunch of music and HD TV series as well. Let me know.

When you say electronic movie collection - do you mean movies stored on an HTPC or movies on DVD? If you mean DVD, I would be willing to swap, although I have a few more than you - probably close to 500 now. I used to run a free 'rental' operation with my co-workers at AOL. I had an online web application where people could reserve movies, virtually check them out and everything. I was able to easily track who had what movie of mine and how long they had had it.

Yes, I am a geek.

I thought that was what you were talking about. I haven't (and probably won't) make that jump yet for movies. Next on my list is an HD-DVD drive, so I will have to repurchase my favorite movies yet again.

Kevin, I understand what you are saying. I love the movie, but the pace is VERY SLOW. It is just a difference experience than most modern movies.

Its sort of like people who watch Citizen Kane and say "It was OK". I love it as well, but you also have to look at it in the context of the time period it was made as well as the entire Orson Wells "wonder boy" thing. Rosebud, baby!!

You guys inspired me to watch Rashomon again last night. That is easily my favorite Kirosawa, I think it is a brilliant film although every one that I've seen has been amazing.

Ditto and I'm a 007 fanatic. I walked out of the theater a bit confused since it isn't the typical Bond film cookie-cutter plot. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not but after thinking about it for a while I found myself liking it more and more. The negative press that some fans were trying to generate is nonsense.

I'm already anxiously waiting Bond #22 to hit the silver screen.

Bond is Back!!! Loved it.
The new guy is very Connery-esque.
Great action sequences... with practical stunts.... not all that CGI schlock.
...English cars.

Go See it.

Ashraf, I felt the exact same way. I am a Bond fanatic as well and left the movie trying to collect my thoughts on it but after spending an afternoon contemplating it I really did like how Daniel Craig portrays Bond and the overall movie was one of the better Bond films.

OK, Adam, our Dad, and I saw Casino Royale last night. I really liked it. Sure, Bond shouldn't be blond. Sure, he should be able to drive a car with a manual transmission. But even with that, I would say that it is one of my favorite Bond films yet. I did like the cameos that were in the film. I won't go into details for those who haven't seen it yet, but I recognized 2 people who don't have speaking roles in the film.

My only problem with the film...Why did they have to kill the fueler!!!!!!!!

Did I miss something? IIRC, the DB5 has always been a manual transmission and the DBS is supposed to be a manual as well.

The Princess Bride(1987)

One worth owning because you will watch it more than once.

I read the book while I was at Rex getting my ticker a once over(chest pains suck) and had been meaning to watch the movie again. This is one of the few where I think the movie is better than the book.
