The bigger news on this car is the new Engine, the VQ34HR which as a re-enforced block for F/I, and a new intake. The HR has a new redline of 7500 RPM and more power across the entire powerband.

Methinks Todd is not a huge Nissan fan LOL

I tell ya... I'm diggin the new hood... bring the bulge a little farther out, put a ever-so-slightly more pronounced point to it, and incorporate the same subtle point at the very front of the car, and there you have some retro-classic 240z lines :D

OK Todd - you confuse me. You don't like this 'de-riced skyline aka new 350z' and you don't like the 'riced 350z aka new skyline' from the other thread.

If Nissan would only shave about 300 lbs from the car, I would be interested. I have driven them and really enjoy it but what do you get with that 3400 lbs worth of car. It just seems like a bit of a pig to me.

The 3400 lbs commonly printed is a bit of a misconception. A Standard Base model weighs in at 3250 lbs, and a stripped down one can be had for just under 3200. It's the Failry loaded Enthusiast and Touring models that weigh so much. Still not light, but not 3400 lbs. The Roadster is a pig, period...but makes for a nice cruiser.

Yeah, but why would you buy anything less than the enthusiast, gotta have the lsd with 300 hp.

I have driven the performance model at an autocross last November. It was fun but I jumped from the Miata straight to that for fun runs and wow it felt massive yet I didn't hit any cones in the 3 runs and I beat the owners time by about one second so it didn't drive that much different than the Miata. Still felt really heavy.
