hi all, our 1989 bmw eta, has a problem..

3500 rpm is top whack, instead of 4500 rpm, which is actual rpm limit, the fuel cut kicks in, very very odd, also, my snetra is gettign aa new raidator, how one bleeds a radiator is something i will need to look up..
aside from that, all is well at hte guthrie barn..

I let my Miata run a while with the cap off. That seemed to do the trick. Don't know if the same thing works for a Sentra though.

Good luck.

Tricks for purging air from a cooling system -
It sometimes helps to have the car on an incline. You want the opening in the system to be the highest point so the air bubbles can rise through the coolant and escape. Squeezing the coolant hoses can help too.
Sorta like burping a baby...

A faulty or erratic bellhousing flywheel sensor can cause almost exactly what feels like fuel cutout, usually around 3500-4000 rpm. In post cases though, the car will occasionally blast past the tumble and get to high(er)rpm.

First thing to do on the Eta is swap the flywheel and the reference sensors on the bellhousing and see if the problem changes. The 2 sensors are identical -- one watches all the flywheel teeth go by (in lieu of a real crank sensor), and one watches a steel dowel on the flywheel whizz past for crank angle.

Yes I know this from personal experience :)

Re: SE-R radiator.

There is a screw right next to the thermostat housing that must be removed to let air out of the system.
