That is the movie Rendezvous by Claude Lelouche. Not sure if I spelled his name right. He was a french movie director.

The Wake County Public Library used to have this on 16 mm. A friend of mine would check out a bunch of these and have a film party.

It's now available "restored" on DVD - I have a copy and with the restoration it's even more debatable if the film is real. No matter what, it's pretty cool.
