I am going to decorate a new office with a garage/auto racing them. Instead of a conference table I will use a work bench with swivel stools, lamp bases made out of rotors, etc. What I am getting hung up on is finding or coming up with a unique idea for my main desk. any idea's?

And, no Mike Whitney, as much as a scissor lift would make a great desk it really blows my budget!

How about the roof of an old BMC mini.

I was thinking the same thing, a roof off some cool car, or maybe a hood or trunk lid. Something like that.

Then to make it level you use a large peice of glass or acrylic for the top and blocks cut to level everything out.

You can see what I'm talking about HERE Look at what they did to level the glass on top of the DC-9 horizontal stabilizer

I was kind of thinking the front clip of some sports car. keep the dash remove the steering and cover it with the acrylic.

Glass top on an engine shortblock. Sam's club has some great stainless steel tool boxes for drawer storage units as well as SS work tables that could work as a desk. The hairdresser's next to our store use Craftsmen tool chests as work station storage units, I was drooling as they unboxed them all.

Of course for less money, you could have a lift with a piece of plywood on it.

I'm not sure what I'm driving.
Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.
