I worked at a sub and wing shop while in college. We had a promotional gimmic where we would give a free bucket of any style wing to the person who could finish just one of our special hot wings. Many tried and, if I recall correctly, couldn't get passed the first bite. This was in NY, home of the real wing too :) All we did was mix a tiny bit of butter(for bonding) in with Korean pepper. That was all. We had to be very careful when mixing the pepper or when we rinsed out the mixing container. If that stuff got in the air it would burn your eyes.

ate at the Sunnyside Too oyster bar recently. they have something called a red rooster (maybe) cracker, oyster, some hot pepper, horseradish, red pepper, texas pete and whatever else. the shucker suggested it so i bought him one too. i think i fared better with it than he did. not really all that hot given the size of the oysters that day. half dollar size. raw and fresh. mmmmmm good.

one wing plus the mandatory pint of beer.

must be the wing.. i hate those drumettes...

edit: i actually want to go to this place and try these.. have you had one? are they like straight cayenne pepper or tabasco, or do they actually have a decent flavor?

Sorry that I didn't see this until now. You can gargle with Tabasco after this to get the heat out of your mouth. The heat and flavor didn't bother me, it was having it sit in my stomach that turned my world asunder. I had to go to the HT next door and buy milk to settle it.

It's straight Dave's Insanity Sauce, which I find a little bitter. I prefer the Temporary Insanity which is more garlicky.
