Maybe there is something about this week. I've seen a couple every day this week on my commute to work (Nashua NH to Framingham MA, ~50 miles). I almost never see them. They ruined a ricer's day this morning. He appeared not to have a license plate. I'm pretty sure they didn't get him for speeding as I was running 80-85 mph. Not sure what gets the cops attention up here, but I'm glad it's not me at 80+. :)

Don't want to suggest quotas but it IS near the end of the month AND near the end of the quarter.

Perhaps they get Chili's gift certificates for selling the most tickets.

they are pushing a slow down initiative. it was announced on the news the other day that they would be working I85 from the VA border south. could be an extension of that.

In other words, they coffers are empty and they need refilling with some "supplementary road use taxes"?

if that were true, they'd have to pull like 25 people a minute to pay for "17 cruisers, one bike, and a helicopper" and all the officers.

then again, who ever heard of the gov't being fiscally sound

Not really, Chris. It's not like these troopers would have stayed home otherwise. Repeat after me, salary.

Besides, if they weren't on duty, who would answer the call when the neon light at KK turns on.
