Monte Carlo Rally not on Speed Channel?????

Seem that the Monte will not be shown on Speed.
Any one knowing if it will be shown some where else?

From what I've read on SCCAForums, Speed is going to discontinue showing WRC altogether. Maybe Fuel will pick it up. (Channel 612 for those on Directv) - AB

Interesting. Didn't know Speed was dropping WRC. With Outdoor Life Network picking up Dakar and A1GP, maybe they will pick up WRC??

Yup Speed has dropped WRC. I figured it was coming with them moving it from 9 pm to 11 pm last year so they could move Wind Tunnel into the 9 o clock spot. If OLN picks up WRC, I don't know if I will even bother to watch it after how badly they have butchered the Dakar televising over the last 2 years.

Ok, no sign of it on the schedule for Speed (duh!), OLN or Fuel (please someone kill whoever designed Fuel's web site).

I just visited Nicky Grist's web site http://www.nickygrist.com/ and in the forum section Nicky says that he is NOT employeed by Speed this year and doesn't know if anyone is going to broadcast it in the US or not.

OLN does have Dakar reruns running quite a bit. MAYBE this might be a case of brinkmanship in which someone (OLN? or Speed?) is waiting until the last second to secure the rights in a hope to get them very cheap. For OLN they could put the WRC stuff into some of the Dakar rerun slots. Speed would just show them at 4 AM or something. :roll:

Whoever would do this most likely would just run what I would assume is a generic English WRC feed (assuming this exists). I just made all of that up, so take it with a grain of salt.

Basically it looks like no WRC this year. I will miss Nicky's commentary. I also wish Nicky and Colin was participating this year.

Probably going to have to install some p2p software like bittorrent and download the UK broadcasts and watch on my PC. If anyone finds something like this, post the details here.

Wow. I am sure glad they dropped that WRC crap. Now, I can watch the same NASCAR race 15 times and talk about it with my buddies around the water tank for days!!!

WRC is cool and all, but NASCAR is driving the dollars for the station. If I were a speed stockholder, I would be broadcasting as much NASCAR as possible. - AB

The American Hero that we go to for lunch here in Clayton had the nascrap channel on today, but fortunately they were showing AUSTRALIAN V8 SUPERCARS!!!!

If nascrap was the US equivalent of that, I'd be all for having a channel dedicated to it.

i will try to bring some paper to sign at the rallycross and maybe we wil be able to save rallying, 30 signatures is only a small start, but i think it will be a start,
