Are you sure? It always seems you are giving up your space for someone else.

I'll wait for more girls to come out. I would probably just be in the way.

You might get lapped once or twice but you won't be in the way. You should go. You will have a chance to practice during the warm and heat races.

Marek, when you get there ask if there is anyone having a sprint race. I was able to get in on one yesterday.

I also talked to them about starting our own league. They are not going to be starting leagues for a while. The manager said he would announce it when they do.

I told Christine she can follow me during the practice session and learn the line, and that we'd gradually work up to going fast. Then she'd be up to speed (and on her own) for qualifying and the race.

I promise I won't make you follow me into a massive collision with a wall, honey!!! :D

Of course, if we run together who's going to take off my helmet afterward? :(

So what is the current situation of people running? I don't want to show up and not have a spot for my dad to run in. Don't mean to be a nuissance.

Keith, looks like the latest list looks like this:

Friday 12/30 1830

1 Bernie "heavy ballast" Baake
2 Cosby "can't get enough kartin" Wood
3 Adam "road hazzard" Breakey
4 Christine "chef salty balls" Allen
5 Kevin "help me with my helmet" Allen
6 Rob "kamikaze" Harvey
7 Todd Breakey
8 Keith Vail
9 Emmit Willis
10 Tim Peele

There always a chance that someone will be a "no show." I'd tell your dad to come and join us. Even if he can't make it in the heat that we have currently setup, there's a good chance that he can get some time in right after us. Even if that doesn't pan out, there's always cold beer at Greenshields!! :toast:

MARCUS.....please call me on my cell phone (see # below). Since you are going to be at the NCSU game tonight, I'll be glad to head up things at RHK if needed.

Keith,

Your dad can have my spot. I'm going to watch Todd's Kids.
Yes I'm a whimp! :D

Or I could drive and whoever bumps me will find a surprise in the next meal they buy from me

OK, here the results from last night. The guy in first place wasn't actually with our group. He ask if we had an open spot and we let him join us (didn't know he was going to be that good!). Even though there were position changes, we ended up in the same position we started (except for Todd!!). One of the workers even made the comment after our race that was the first time he had seen a group of 10 get on the course and run that hard and that clean. The times are slightly slower than what we ran last week, but that was because of the new tires that have been put on the karts. Just like last time, it was a blast!

Code:
Pos  Kart#  Driver        Started   BestTime  Best Lap  Average
1     8    Chris Stancil    1      32.803        6      33.525
2     7    Tim Peele        2      33.162       11      33.904
3    13    Fred Alan        3      33.226       13      33.928
4     6    Rob Harvey       4      33.565        7      34.271
5    11    Keith Vail       5      33.812        9      34.394
6     3    Emmett Willis    6      34.324        3      34.950
7     2    Adam Breakey     7      34.393        4      34.982
8     4    Skip Vail        8      34.336        4      35.036
9     1    Bernie Baake.   10      35.196        7      35.822
10     9    Todd Breakey     9      36.165        9      37.285

Actually I started 10th and finished 10th. :( Plus I looped it in turn 1 trying to stay in front of Bernie!!!!

No big deal though. :whoknows: I've gotten used to being DFL after chasing Jim F and Dan E all year.

Todd the reason you're listed as starting in 9th is because you blew by me at the start. The sensor for the transponders is about thirty feet before the end of the straight away. I was screwing around with the seat belt when they started the group. I couldn't have started a tenth of a second behind you upon applying the gas, but by the time we reached the first turn you were about twenty feet ahead of me so the transponder had you starting in ninth.
It was still fun even for a couple of Clydesdales, I was able to stay with most of the Thoroughbreds in the turns, I was left in a cloud of rubber on the straights however. We need to find a league where Clydesdales are the light weights--- Thats the Pachyderm league!!!!

I qualified 2nd and once again got passed by 3 people before the first turn. I guess I shouldn't wait until I see the green light to start moving?

Even though I was sick it was a lot of fun.

Looks like until they get things straightened out that we need to reserve a slot 30 minutes to an hour before we want to run. That way we get on course when we actually do want to

Even though the injured wrist kept me out, I had a decent time watching and talking with all there. :D
