OK all you IT geeks, get your resume sharpened up. I'm with progress energy and we had one of our open systems NT admins transfer into another department, therefore we have an opening. We are looking for a windows NT admin with at least a few years of experience.
Duties include OS installs, patch management, remote server support, backup, restores, trouble tickets and some travel. You also have to be able to put up with the usuall political BS. Knowledge of networking, IP, DHCP and DNS are helpful but not required. There will be after hours support for the occasional server outage and you will be on call 24-7 every 6 weeks. We have approximately 500 servers we support, so there's plenty of opportunity to keep you busy!! We also need you to be able to think quick when the occasional problem surfaces. We are a 100% IBM server shop using IBM sharks, Hatachi and NetApp for SAN/NAS storage.
Benefits are good and you will park in a secured parking lot down town near the civic center. I'd have to say the best bennie is we get every other Friday off, so a 3 day weekend every other week. Not bad.
