I stopped by Millenium Mazda today and peeked in the windows of a couple of 2006 MX-5s. Mostly looked at a black base model which had the sport package. It appeared to be a bit larger than the 2005 parked next to it, but I think a lot of that is the higher hoodline. The interior features 4 (four!) cupholders, and a rather tall boxy center console that looks like it came from an F-150. Sticker was in the 23s.

Next door, Sport Durst http://www.bizjournals.com/industries/m ... ily38.html had fourl Lotus Elises on display in the parking lot. I got down on my hands and knees and peeked in the windows of a couple of them. Stickers ran from $48K to $52K with options. Base price was in the high $42s.

Finally, I went to the Rolling Stones concert last night in Wallace Wade staduim. Much better show than I expected, so I'm glad I accepted when one of my high school friends offered me a $60 Duke alumni ticket. Mercedes is a tour sponsor and had some of their R-class miniv.... no.. SU... no..... rebadged Pacificas on display, and they were handing our cards listing a website where you can enter to win a trip to Europe to see the Stones or a Harmon Kardon home entertainment system: http://RocktheR.com

Those of you in the club for any length of time know that Art McDonald is this club's biggest Ford Mustang fanatic.

Yet, while Art was out shopping for Japanese and British cars on Saturday afternoon, his beloved Mustangs were leading the field and winning a Grand Am Cup race at VIR. He was invited to join three of his old friends, myself, Dishman, and Gratton in attending the event, but he declined.

Art, the weather was miserable, but the day was enjoyable, sorry you missed it.

Dear

Image,

As always, I'm saddened to miss the chance to see you and Image
and
Image.

Perhaps, if you guys could attend more THSCC autocrosses, I wouldn't have to post your photos here so that everybody else would know who I was replying to. :P

BTW, I was BROWSING (not shopping, which would signal intent to purchase) those little cars on Sunday afternoon, not Saturday.

Your friend,
Art
