A few more thoughts......
Re: 109 U-Pull-It- Their name might say U-Pull-It, but their prices don't!!. A good friend of mine stopped by there a week or two ago, looking for a couple of transmissions and some old BMW diffs to buy and resell to a place that rebuilds them. These can usually be had at the true u-pull-it yards for ~$30-60 each, the 109 guy quoted him ~$600-700 EACH for the 5 items that he saw on the yard. That's insane, and earns 109 U-Pull-It a 1/2 jackstand rating (the official Rigmaster Junkyard rating system I just came up with).....
At Pull A Part in Charlotte, they have 2 prices for everything, depending on if you want a "warranty" or not- warranty prices are slightly higher, but give you the right to return the part within 30 days if it's defective. They also have a "core" charge on quite a few parts- like engines and aluminum wheels and lots of others. They list their hours as 8-6pm, but they kick everyone off the yard at 530- so keep that in mind (this is true with the yards in Richmond- though they are "open" until 7pm during summer months, they kick everyone out 30 minutes early)

ps- last minute Rigmaster ratings for these yards:
(1-5 jackstands- 1 is the worst, 5 is junkyard heaven!)
PullAPart (Charlotte)- 3-1/2 jackstands - new yard, very well organized and clean, they have alot of true "junk" cars on the yard with little or no useable parts on them, and they do not turn over cars very quickly- hopefully this will change as they become more established.
CAP + CAR (Richmond area)- 4 jackstands- fast turnover of cars, fairly good selection of popular cars (though the vultures tend to hover and get the really good stuff before the cars hit the ground). Extremely liberal return policy- return anything within 30 days for a full refund (as long as you have receipt and the part has been marked).
