Friends,
As many of you know I have temporarily relocated back to old Blighty so that I can help care for my father who had been diagnosed with bladder of the cancer. They were to have operated a couple of weeks ago to remove the bladder with all that that would have involved. Alas, a last minute MRI revealed that the cancer has escaped the bladder and he has secondary bone cancer. Operation cancelled, outlook less than we hoped. I thought I would keep you all posted on the ongoing reasons for my absence. Thank you all for your thoughts and wishes, you need not post them here. I know.
On a lighter note, I am enjoying (gotta find joy somewhere) the run between the hospital in High Wycombe and my father's cottage in Haddenham where I'm staying. For those of you who may know the area I've been taking (and learning) the Bledlow Ridge. I jury-rigged a mount in the passenger headrest of my Dad's Ford Focus estate (stationwagon for my colonial cousins) for my digital still camera. As many do, it suppots a low quality video format and I "taped" a run down Bledlow Ridge.
Here is a video of the run (41MB).
Here is a lower quality version (17MB) for those of you still on the old steam internet.
I had fun making it - hope you enjoy it.
Regards,
Simon
