Did anyone see the story on the local news about an indoor Karting track to be built in Garner? They say it will cater to corporate business meetings. :? Have meeting then drive Karts.

Construction is supposed to start this summer and be ready by next fall. Woohoo!

Sweet. I'll finally have something to suggest when they ask what activities we want to do for our team outings.

We had Andretti Speed Lab in Atlanta which was pretty fun. I'm sure this will be a similar setup. Prepare to reduce your autocross budget!

Kelly (The wife!) knows Adam Saad, the New Track Owner. He is the son of the Garner TV & Appliance (Saad) family. Nice guy. Maybe we can meet him & set up some type of Club Test when he gets the place open.
It could be very cool!

We stopped by and spoke to the owner of the new karting facility, Adam Saad, and spoke to him about this today.

He said it's scheduled to open Nov 2005. It's gonna be a 50,000 sq ft indoor facility ala Victory Lane Karting in Charlotte or some other Karting place in VA Beach. He said they are going to have an eating/drinking/meeting space that seats 100 people, with catering by Greenshields Brewery (MMMMM, Beer.....). He mentioned that they were planning to host Christmas parties, etc as well as Corporate outings + team building stuff. He is very enthusiastic about the project, and would be more than willing to come to a THSCC meeting to discuss and answer any questions.

The facility is going to be off Hwy 70 + Raynor Rd, which is just east of I-40 going towards Clayton from Garner.

I've got a brochure here, will try to scan it tonight + post a link.

Bret.

Didn't greenshields burn down? I thought they were not going to re-open.

I heard that Greenshields was looking for another location to build a store. Maybe it will be in the same vicinity as the track.

Maybe I've just done too many stupid things in my life so far. But the last time i mixed beer drinking and a go cart ride I ended up landing a cart on my head.
