I don't really go out of my way to drive lots of cars, but, like everything else, I like to keep a list. It's fun. I finally updated it from memory for the last 6 months or so. Cars in yellow text are ones that I have owned - all 17 of 'em.

http://www.nogumracing.com/whitney/2005 ... y_list.htm

I'm sure I have forgotten to add a few over the years, but I'm at 294 on the list.

First on the list (bottom) - a 1981 Honda Civic Wagon 5-speed. Mmmm.

Hey Steve - did you get a chance to ride along with any "experienced" drivers yesterday? Sometimes that can be like a light bulb going off, to see someone else do it.

I have another theory.

Steve and I were the only novices that worked on the bus, and we didn't do very well at event #1.
Graham did painting and trim work on the bus, and got a mangled hand.
Ryan brought it back from the shop and hit a bridge.
You've had it suck away a lot of your time, but it hasn't hurt you--yet.

If the bus needs a name, I suggest 'Christine'.

I'm sure Mike has me beat in total number of cars driven. I've never thought to try and keep track of that, and I've drank entirely too many beers since 1988 to try and remember now. :) But I doubt I've even approached 300. I do have a *slight* edge on him on total owned, I'm currently sitting at 21 cars owned. I thought we had a thread like this already, but I couldn't find it when I searched, so here is my list for anyone who might care. I will put an asterisk beside the ones I autocrossed.

1. '83 Nissan 200SX
2. '79 Honduh Civic CVCC (Honda-matic)
3. '85 Ford Mustang LX (4-banger)
4. '76 VW Super Beetle
5. '82 Toyota Supra
6. '70 International Scout
7. '87 Toyota Supra
*8. '93 Nissan Sentra SE-R
9. '76 Toyota Corrolla
*10. '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
*11. '85 VW GTI
*12. '95 Eagle Talon TSI AWD
*13. '91 Toyota MR2
*14. '02 Subaru WRX Wagon
*15. '92 Plymouth Laser RS AWD
16. '89 Dodge Colt
*17. '91 Toyota MR2 turbo
*18. '03 Mustang GT
19. '02 Dodge Neon
*20. '96 Mazda Miata
21. '04 Pontiac GTO

I rode with Steve yesterday and hopefully gave him a few pointers that he can use. I didn't see his last time, but i think his time after me was the same as with, but he said he was in control more because he was driving slower and trying to look ahead more

I hope it helped. I think Mike's driving tour is a great primer for all :D
