So I had this dream last night...

Ok....

So, I'm rallying. Through the Saraha. In a old Porsche 911, like, early 80s vintage. Except it's twin turbo.

The turbos start acting up on the car. So, I get my codriver, the Sheik, to drive. While he's driving, I'm sitting behind the engine (yes, I know it's a rear engine car) and when he pushes on the gas pedal, I have to raise and lower the intercooler (also in the rear) in and out of the airstream, or the engine will bog.

So we're flying along past all the palm trees and I'm hanging out the back of the Porsche.

Then the rally is over and the Sheik is really proud. We go back to the stables and we're going to take a ride. He has horses as well as camels, and they're going to get me a horse, because I've ridden one of those before.

While they're around the other side, I hop up on a camel. It is one of the Sheik's wild, untamed camels. But lo! I manage to ride it around! It's not too hard, but it was a little spooky.

Then it's time to go home. Mark Bowers (rally guy from VA) is driving, and there are four of us in an old Datsun 510. I'm in the back seat. We're coming up to a corner (we're now in the mountainous part of the desert) and I'm thinking, 'Geez, I know he's a rally driver but this seems a little fast."

And we go off the corner and start rolling down the mountain!

We end up stopped on another road down below. I have a broken forearm, but everyone else is ok.

Then we decide we better high tail it out of there before the Shiek finds out we totaled his rental car.

Some locals showed up, and we borrowed their motorbikes before they went around the corner and saw the car.

And that's just how it happened!

Anders,
Maybe you should check your respirator before you go painting cars. :word:

Or maybe you should not be buying mushrooms from the food co-op.

Well, is anyone _else_ going to post a dream??

For as much as we all think about cars, I can't imagine I'm the only one who has dreams about them. :)

Anders

I had a dream last night that I had a spider on my foot & I couldn't shake it off. When I reached down to flick it off, it would threaten to bite me. Back to shaking, no deal, reach down, threaten. Repeat. Woke up moaning, and had to pee. Explain that one.

I seem to have a disproportionate number of rally dreams. I almost never have an autocross dream. Seems the conditions are usually interesting (snow/ice, rainy night, etc), with wild features (super-steep grades, wicked curves, mazes of intersecting roads all alike). Usually I'm driving, sometimes I'm co-driver, sometimes service crew.

I'll have to try to remember my next one. My biggest problem is that they tend to slip away on me when I wake up and try to capture the memory.

My dreams are not discussable on a family forum, but I can say they mostly don't include cars except for an occasional back seat.

That was a mind picture that I did *NOT* need.
