I'm not sure what I'm driving.
Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

That's amazing. I'd love to try an event like that. Maybe that would be a good thing to try at Rockingham.

Crazy stuff, reversing and crap.

No one else noticed the lack of helmet? In an open top car no less

Could you imagine teaching a Novice how to recognize a DNF?

I noticed the lack of helmet, but at ~25mph top speed, it's not clear how necessary it really is. Except in the litigious USA, that is.

Man, that guy is so graceful! A lot like that Mini clip last week. Amazing the car-control skills you can develop.

Anyone up for an event like that? That guy driving is seriously talented.

Having driven in England that is the area shown in the video is bigger than most of the parking lots over there, which is kind of a bummer.
Of course on the plus side most of the country roads are more like autocross courses with 6 foot tall hedge instead of cones. There are also round-abouts or traffic circles everywhere which if you can catch just right drive like a 3 cone slalom.

Hey in the US it used to be called a gymkana (SP?). My dad used to help put these on for SCCA-CCR back in the day when sports cars had wire wheels and no seat belts. :P

That's how I park every day in the parking lot at Centennial!

We British are a creative lot - it's keeps us from getting depressed about the weather.

Did you know that if you took your driving test in England in an automatic that you were not licensed to drive a manual?

Bloody good idea!

Also, I think the DMV should start giving out leaflets to people when they renew their licenses that explains how a bloody roundabout works. (That's "traffic circle" to my colonial cousins here.)

Actually if we had those I think most of us would call it a "skid pad". Good for testing those lateral G's at 3am.

I'd like to see the course map for that event!

They probably let a chimp scratch on a paper, then inserted the cone placements... 8)
