I know they are available on the SCCA's website, however I have tried to no avail several times to order one from there online. Everytime I try to order the page sits for like five minutes then the server not found message pops up. And yes I entered my information correctly and no my credit card isn't anywhere near maxed out nor expired. Those are the only reasons I could figure that it wouldn't go through. I even tried ordering from both my pc at work and at home. Just wondering if there is anywhere else that I could order one from. Otherwise I suppose I could just call them directly and order.

I wouldn't even mind giving someone a few bucks for an older copy. Just thought it would be nice to read up on all of the rules. Does this book contain anything pertaining to being bumped into another class? I notice that the club bumps drivers from time to time? What criteria is this based on?

Chris, If I can find my CD version, you can have it. It's the current '04 book. As for bumping, it occurs when there are not enough drivers to make a class. In SCCA Solo II, there is no minimum class size, so 1 car can make a class. In ProSolo, there must be minimum of 5 drivers to make a class, and if there are not enough drivers, the class gets bumped. There is a specific bumping order within the rule books.

In our club, single cars get bumped, using the bumping order developed by the SCCA, but the reasoning behind our 'bumps' is unknown. - AB

Guess I am S.O.L for running in SS after my novice time is up unless someone else comes along to run in that class. :( Not that it really matters anyhow. I can run SS get bumped or run in TIR. Either way I will get pasted until I get a lot more seat time.

You can always call the SCCA instead of using that crappy 3rd party ordering system. Be sure to mention that the crappy 3rd party ordering system clogged your system up with its stuipd cheesy javascript and crashed. (Can you tell I don't like the whole concept?)

SCCA # is : (800) 770-2055

Chris:
Best thing you can do is join SCCA.
You'll get Sports Car magazine. That way, you'll stay up to date on class changes, proposed changes and other news.

If you ever want to run SCCA Regional events, you need to be a member anyway.

Rule books are readily available to members via the SCCA toll-free 800 number.
