Someone stole my 1987 toyota pickup 2wd from outside of my house last night- I live in Durham in the Duke Park neighborhood. The muffler was bad and the carb needed a rebuild so cold starts were a long/loud process. Our dog and our neighbors didn't hear anything last night so I suspect it was towed off. I'm planning to check Craigslist and Ebay over the next week or two. If anyone sees it around please let me know :(

Edit:
I intended for this to go into the lounge section. My bad :P

My truck was found abandoned in I85 this morning. Needs a new battery, upper steering column assembly, and I need to rewire the ignition. This could have been much worse.

I'm surprised anyone would bother stealing it. Plus since it is a manual that would make it even harder for many people. I guess my Cherokee is not safe either if someone went to this much trouble.

Goes to show thieves have problem with risk/reward judgement. That's a cool truck and all, but if your going to risk going to prison over stealing a car, I say go big. Then again, maybe they figure they can steal a bunch of older vehicles and police wont bother to investigate.

Glad you got it back. Hopefully it wasn't abandoned because they blew the engine up or destroyed the transmission trying to figure out how to drive a manual.
