Rodney should just get his inspection with no electrical, then wire up a few outlets in the shop, with at least one outdoor receptacle.

After that's done, he can lop one end off an extension cord and replace it with a male plug, and just run the extension cord from the house to the shed's outdoor receptacle.

That's way cheaper than anything else that has been discussed. If the power ever goes out, he can just plug that same extension cord into the generator and power the house.

You're not to far off of base of what my original plan was, but in this case, I want to be legal.... Only issue with that process is I don't have 20amp outlets to tap to run to the workshop. Looks like I also need 2 circuits, a 15a for lights/fans and a 20a for machinery...

Sometimes you just have to throw in the towel and follow big brother

I'm contemplating doing something like this to get a temporary line of power out to my non-permanent out building at the house i'm renting.

I have a exterior outlet on the house, just run the extension cord through the air over to the shed for some light and just hand tools or whatever.

Oh please, that's insulting.

My bolt collection is all Metric and that 1500A slow blow is clearly SAE.

Also, I prefer to plink with a .223, so I'll probably only get 300A out of it.

The 2000A is spot on though. Who on earth needs an 11mm wrench. Really, I've got a collection of the things and they are all shiny clean and brand new (except the one in the fuse box). I think I keep the 11mm wrenches in the drawer labeled "small pry bars" (oh yeah, and the other drawer labeled spare fuses).

I might have even wedged an 11mm wrench into a brake caliper before. It's a great spacer to keep the piston from popping out when the backing plates start to get thin.

I had to go buy one just to bleed the Mustang's brakes. I guess the engineer at Ford was part German and decided using a 10mm would have been too easy.

Hoping to keep the dealer techs in business I guess haha.

I've always had a 11mm, pretty sure it came in the very first set of craftsman tool I got for graduating high school.

I changed the oil on the Fiesta recently, I completely forgot Ford put a 13mm drain plug in this thing.

They also used torx screws for the air filter box, why? Really just trying to keep the do it yourselfer from working on things?

I think all of my cars have different sized drain plugs, and since I have CRS, I decided to come up with a clever way to keep up with them. I wrote the wrench size on the drain pain of each with a paint marker.

I also put on there the oil change volume in quarts so I never need to pull the manual or look it up. - AB

I do this as well. Amount of oil in qts and the filter number written on the fan/radiator shroud...

I keep the filter part number on a notepad on my phone so I don't have to check the guy at the counter to look it up. Somehow I got lucky and both our '07 and '13 Fusions use the same filter. Too bad they don't use the same weight oil. :(

Guessing the 07 is old enough before they started going to 5w-20 to help improve fuel mileage. Far as I know that's the biggest reason they all run 5w-20 now days.

The good news is they are starting on the building foundation today. They will set up the piers and floor joists. Tomorrow the inspector comes out and then on Wed they continue with the build, so I'm excited to get this rolling.

The bad news is I was finally able to talk to Rob's recommendation for an electrical person. Looks like I'm stuck running a 2' deep trench since running in conduit still has to be at least 18" deep and the drain lines aren't that deep. Either way I go I'm going to have to run almost 200' of wire to avoid the lines. Not happy. So can anyone get me a deal on renting a trencher? Looks like I get to do this part to keep costs down.

My '07 Fusion (2.3L I-4) and '06 Mustang GT (4.6L V8) both run 5W-20 and the '13 Fusion uses 5W-30 (2.0L I-4 Ecoboost).

Interesting the Fiesta ST calls for 5w-20, which is a 1.6L ecoboost and the Focus (1.0L Ecoboost) does also.
