1972 Super Beetle "Baja" edition. Looked just like this one. Drove the hell out of it, wrecked it when someone in a Honda Civic turned left in front of me, which allowed me to get the insurance payoff, pay back my Dad for the $$ he loaned me to buy the car AND pay a backyard bodyman to fix the car for me (might have had a few $$'s left over to buy gas).

Sold this one and bought a 1973 VW Thing- really wish I still had that car.

They sold Shuttle/Beagles here in the US. They just called them the Civic Wagon. They made them from '83-'91 here, and through '96 in the rest of the world. I have seen several excellent examples. They are one of my favorite Civics, although people tend to want a lot of $ for them since they are not common.

Had wire chrome wheels on it that were too low of offset and stuck out, plus a 15" 500w sub in the back. God what was I thinking at the time. :stick:

My first car was a Datsun 410 sedan. 1200 cc pushrod motor with 3 speeds on the column.

It also had a hand crank in the trunk. Leaving high school one day I had to hand crank it. I told the guys hanging around "Do that with you small block"

'66 Falcon Club Coupe. Mine was Silver Blue instead of the Arcadian Blue shown.
Attachment:
66falconclubcoupe.jpg

Amongst its performance features were a 1 barrel Holley carburetor atop the optional 200 CID "Fairlane" six, churning out 120 HP gross, 3 speed column shift manual transmission with synchronizers for BOTH 2nd and 3rd gears, 4 wheel unassisted drum brakes, 13" steelies with bias-ply tires, and unassisted steering with 5.5 turns lock to lock.

Comfort and convenience features included a Mustang under-dash air conditioner. I added an FM radio from Radio Shack under the dash in 1979, because I didn't want to mess with the radio delete plate on the dash. (I liked the 3 Falcons flying right to left across it.)

I traded it in when I bought a brand new 1981 Mustang. And I want it back.

I think that supers had both flat and curved. The struts were the functional difference

Isn't that still in the shop

According to an article I saw on the Autoweek site, David Lee Roth had a '69 Kadett Caravan that may or may not have been nicknamed "Panama".

Coincidence?

Hand me down from my mom, 318 with no smog stuff, I didn't understand how fast it was compared to all the mid 70's cars. I just thought I was a better driver when I beat a 76 Trans Am in a race after a golf tournament. Both cars full of junior golfers!
