Posting here as it's not really on topic anywhere else.

Wanted to let you guys know that Roberta has breast cancer. It is invasive, but we don't know if it's metastasized. They're doing a scan for that next week and we'll find out to the best of the medical establishment's ability next Friday. Surgery scheduled for Apr 22.

Cancer sucks and is scary. Hopefully everything goes as well as it can.

Any positive thoughts, prayers, or whatever is your thing would be appreciated.

If you want to send something positive her way, her gmail address is pyrannha

Edited to add surgery date.

yes, cancer does suck. I've know too many folks that have been hit by this. I truly hope that the surgery goes well and you both receive a clean bill of health. Thoughts are with you both....

I'm really sorry to hear about this. I'll be praying that Roberta's surgery and treatment are successful.

Thinking about you guys and best wishes with the surgery. It's truly amazing what these oncologists can do these days. Stay positive.

I am so very sorry. Will she be treated here in Raleigh or where you are now? Treatment has come a long way, and survival rates are much better than the past. I will be praying for the two of you and your treatment team.

Roberta's surgery went well and we've got some good news! From one of her posts elsewhere:
Quote:
Clean margin. The three lymph nodes they took for testing were clear. Tumor size was as sketched by all the imaging. So... pT2,pN0,M0 for tumor over 2cm but under 5cm, no lymph node involvement, no metastatic disease. Stage IIA.

Will update again when we know more.
