Well it seems as if the latching mechanism on my hood leaves a bit to be desired since the incident with Kevin's Miata! Vincent had the hood fly open on him during a run at Danville today at the Triad event.

Here is a pic of me pounding on the hood to get it to close again!

There is some good news, after pounding the crap out of the hood, I did take 1st place in ESP! :) Probably got a top 10 RAW time too!

Thanks to Wes "The Gas Light Inn Lounge Lizard" Eargle for the pics

I wonder if God is trying to tell me to get a Carbon Fiber hood?

i don't know about the DSM's, but for Corrado's CF or FG hoods are cheaper than a new OEM hood and a new FG is on par with a good used hood. Been trying to decide (and raise money) ever since my tranny mount went and the motor tried to leap frog through the hood. Still running stock though...not so bling

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with a few AX's worth of tech stickers on my car.

Of course I drive mine everyday, so that may just make me lazy :)

OK here's the rest of the story. Triad's event schedule leaves something to be desired. They start too late, making for a long day with no fun runs. Did I mention I love Tarheel? Their course design however....it rocked! I didn't hear anyone complain about the course. There was only really one tight spot, but you gotta have at least one right? The rest was open, easy to read (while looking ahead) and the finish was one of those "foot to the floor types"...my favorite in a turbo car. Most of the very few DNF's were by Novices and two by Adam Ligon. Hey Adam, I'll trade you a DNF for a run w/o a view obstructed by a large black hood.

Overall it was a good event. The weather was nice and cool with overcast skies. I really only got one good run because the car was sputtering on the first two, and my third, well it's hard to drive fast with a hood in the way.

Congrats to Ryan though. His last run was lightning fast even with a view through the cracked windshield. We showed 'em that the Tarheel boys can still <Cable Guy Voice ON> "Git 'er done"!

Yeah it took a few runs to get used to the brakes in the ole bunny, or lack there of I should say :D . Though I did send a bunch of people running with my 4 wheel drift on the sweeper
