Cash, did you buy some kind of signal meter to help aim the antennas?
No. I just took a 17" TV up to the attic and aimed each antenna. Unlike the old analog signal, todays digital TV signal is much more narrow and consistent. I have not had to touch the antennae for years.

Anyone know of any sites that would help me spec the combiner, amplifier, and splitter?
It sounds like you are in good shape with cable infrastructure. My suggestion is to start with Antennaweb.org - it will give you distance and frequency (color coded) of the channels you want. Then go to Solidsignal.com to pick an antenna based of distance and color code. They are also very helpful with advice for your other accessories.
Since every application and location is different and the antenna specs for distance and frequency are more of a guideline - there is a certain amount of trail and error. Here's what I did:
I took a first pass selecting the three antennae.
Then upsized (distance) to account for signal loss due to roof structure, trees, etc.
Then I bought the ONE that I thought would be my largest (rather than buying them all at once).
I tested the ONE in all three positions - it turned out not to be big enough for my furthest signal.
Armed with this info, I bought the other two antennae - one smaller and one larger.
Good luck - let us know how you make out.
