I recently picked up a center console conversion kit for the e39 bmw. The arm rest is gray while the interior is black. Do you know of a good product to use to dye the arm rest black? There's a lot of fabric sprays out there, but I need a permanent dye that's going to take the abuse of having an arm rubbing on it. Conversely, I don't want the dye to rub off. What products do I need to look for?

I haven't used the dye, but the leatherique products I have used were really good. I made a totally ratty Porsche 944 seat go from brown to clean light grey with their conditioner.

I'll bet that Josh the HCMC detail guy has some suggestions.

as it turns out, don't need the dye any longer. The center console lid turned out to be vinyl, so bought a can of fabric dye and all is good now. Appreciate the follow up

For future reference, this stuff is great.

http://www.leatherworldtech.com/

I used it to change a black steering wheel to "Savannah Beige", looks totally original.

Thanks, Cline...looks like a winner to me. As the S2000 gets older the seats will likely need this for when I sell it.
