DuPont just announced they are terminating everyone at the RTP. Part of the Dow merger is a $1B downsizing.
Friday is my last day.

Looking for a R&D Technician position in any field.
Honestly looking for any work in any field. Miata might be up for sale soon.

That sucks, so sorry to hear. Keep a look out at Duke Power and Duke medical. As far as I know there's constant posts on those sites. You have a LinkedIn account? Good way to network.

That sucks, and I feel your pain. What sort of R&D?

I have worn a few hats. I did Quality Control and FAI for awhile. I did rapid prototyping and ran a small machine shop. I have done life cycle testing and designed thermal test chambers.
Most recently I have been working with photo-voltaic pastes. When I told them I ran milling machines I had no idea what a roll mill was. I do now.
Every job has been in a rapidly changing environment. Lots of last minute changes. I like R&D because it is not numbingly repetitive and I can wear several hats.
I am adaptable.

I could slip into a manufacturing role if the environment is right. I just don't want to be a cog in the machine.

You sound like me. General engineering/mechanical/design type. I found this company a few years ago and we are constantly hiring with strong growth. Our Raleigh facility is 100% additive manufacturing and will be one of the largest in the nation when our new factory opens in a few months.

Thanks for the lead. When my FDM queue was full, I used to get parts from FineLine when I worked at Cree. Would be a small world to start working for them.
Looks like they have lots of openings.

Check out Novo Nordisk in Clayton. HUGE $1.1B upgrade this year and the world's leading manufacturer of insulin. I have a few friends there that love it. Heavy FDA regulations, but great work benefits.
