Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I'm sorry to hear that. Walter was a great guy and I missed seeing him around

Wow. This jumped out at me because I just perused Facebook only to see a good friend and recent nursing graduate from ECU who had posted being sad about him passing. I didn't make any connection though until seeing this. Apparently he had a big positive impact on a lot of future nurses, though.

Dang.

I really enjoyed running with Walter years ago in SM. RIP buddy.

I don't think everybody saw that side of Walter. He was a tremendously caring person, I really got to know him on long drives to VIR or CMP. Somebody asked my last week how he was doing and I said, "I haven't talked to him in a while I'm going to call him and get lunch soon". I didn't. That's the second time in a month this scenario has happened to me. Be worried if I call any of you randomly and say I want to go to lunch with you! I think Walter would appreciate that dark humor.

A couple of weeks back when someone mentioned there would be sound limits enforced at the Cary autox, I immediately thought of Walter and his Camaro. :) I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone have more fun autocrossing than him -- what a great guy. I hope he'd be glad to know that when I think of him I simply think of "happy". RIP Walter.

I didn't know him well, but I remember he was one of the friendliest drivers when I just started coming out to events. He always seemed happy.

Walter was one of the best, the world has lost a truly great guy. RIP Walter Houston, you will not soon be forgotten.

From his autocross days in the wicked loud Camaro, to our rallycross co-driving days in the wicked fast Laser, I had a lot of great memories with Walter. I really regret that I haven't kept in touch the past few years. :-(

Is there any talk of getting some stickers made up with his number as we have with other members who have passed on? I'd love to get some if so.

Oh man, I am so sad to see this. :(

I only met him once when we bought a trailer from Walter, but he seemed like a really stand up guy and I have heard many folks speak highly of him in the club. My condolences to his family & friends.

They've been selling them online for a while now. I think Walter would appreciate that joke.
