Found a 2004 F150 with the 5.4L and it's a steal. Buddy at work's family member is selling it and he vouches for it and knows his trucks pretty well. After doing some reading, I am wondering if there is a good Ford truck mechanic any of you know. I was looking at doing the cam phaser job myself, but it looks like it's a PITA.

Not even sure if the work was already done on the truck, but going to see it tomorrow.

Most Ford mechanics stay really busy. Shouldn't be hard to find a good one.

Yeah, like BMW mechanics are sitting around chatting with the Maytag man?

My mothers 528i sedan.tiptronic. her car is fifteen years old..Given that,it is pretty good.My wrx , just had a code cleared, for a emissions fault. It does not misbehave like it would..If the fault was actually a bad problem.Freind told me to keep eye out on it..Seems fine so far.Just got her back..Turbotime is good for subaru.now,my fathers z3,is a 96.Same motor,so its even older..And its fine too. So,i dunno. The only bmw to be rebuilt so far..Is our e30.Its real old..And it oil starved a time or two, coilovers, slicks, and track days..Too many g apparently.hahahaah.Now we run streets,in autocross.Maybe we will run Cherry point again..That is a haul yes..But it is so fun.Got a few freinds there too.Marine freinds, provided they are still there. Its funny, marine base,we have some gear head freinds.Go figure,1987 bmw was beating them, they had a r32 skyline awd turbo, and a two fourty sx,with a skyline engine.and the e30 beat em both.Hot dog! they came ouver to see us once.that is how we met..And looked at our old jalopy, and said damn it.How cna this thing be beating us,hahahaha. We laughed, dunno. It runs good this year, had her out once or twice so far.Wanna do one or two more.Year is winding down, good running car..Gotta do something.SO,no bmw mechanincs may be busy right now..But, their cars are so tweaked, small motor..Lotsa power, hard to keep them happy. Not a ford with pushrods,.Twin cam twin turbo six, with three hundred hp and heavy car. What do you want,so much technology in one car..Something is bound to break.

Ended up picking up a 2012 F150 ecoboost today. Hopefully it doesn't have too many issues.
