You are approaching this from the wrong perspective comparison shopping numbers. Any of these trucks still have a surplus of power. Look at the chassis and suspension, but most importantly which has the biggest widest brake rotors.
I'm sure each has four or more gears too. That's just as big a deal as power up a steep hill.
Seriously, I towed the Miata on an open trailer with a 4.6L F150. 220hp/265ft*lbs. I towed doing 75-80 on the highways as well. Grades weren't fun though.
However, I upgraded to a F250 with 570ft*lb of torque and it's night and day. I actually have to check to make sure the trailer is back there.
Which motor James? I'm curious about the new 6.7l. I might be upgrading.......
