My mom has an 04 Mini Cooper S and her headlights and instrument cluster lighting stopped working. The dealership says its a sunroof drain issue and as a result there is a corroded an electrical connector responsible for the headlights and instrument cluster lighting. The dealership wants $3100 to fix it

Do we have any Massachusetts transplants in the club who could recommend an independent shop somewhere north of Boston (they live in rockport)?
I posted this question on another private site and the following responses showed up today. Hopefully they aren't too late.

Don't know anyone in the Rockport area, but 3D Autoworks in Hudson NH does a lot of Minis. That is about 60 miles from Rockport.
They are SCCA club racers and about the most honest/friendly independent shop around for Mini/BMW

Carefully pull the headliner down around the sunroof opening and you can reach the drain hose over the driver A pillar. Put it back on the steel fitting and zip tie or safety wire it. Connectors are on the drivers side floor under the trim panel and can be cleaned with Deoxit. Just finished this fix on mine after sitting a while. If it was a bad leak for some time it may have killed the tach cluster. Is the tach working?

+1 on 3D Auto.
ACE Performance in Tewksbury, MA is another option, though still not close to Rockport at 47 miles. But they're super good people and do honest work. Baer will take care of you.
