I've talked to some of you at the meetings for my son Jordan. He unfortunately lost his job mid June due to a merger and restructuring. I wanted to post up and ask if there are any entry level IT positions you might be aware. Jordan has background in CAD, QA, engineering, windows, linux and medical software along w/ some very minor coding. If you know of any positions anywhere w/ in the states, Jordan is interested.

While they say the job market is on the rise, I haven't seen much evidence of it so far for Jordan. I love my kids, but I don't need him moving back into the house =)

My company Fineline prototyping is hiring all the time. We grew by 80+% this year.

Many entry level IT positions are filled by contracts and outsourcing. Direct hire only happens after being contract for X period of time now.

Try checking out Manpower, Volt, Siemens, Alphanumeric and the other technical staffing companies locally. He'll most likely be able to get some kind of work, even if it is only temp computer setup for projects and at least get some cashflow. It will also help mitigate any gaps on his resume.

Come work for the state! :) Not sure on his salary requirements, but we are always hiring developers, and job security is solid. We hire a lot of contractors too, but if he is looking for a real, settle-down type career...the state is a great place.

I work for NCDOT in IT as well, and I was just tenured this year:
