I'm looking for somewhere locally or possibly online that would have a square/rectangular damper for my return HVAC run in the house. My basement is 8 degrees cooler and I want to pull that air and circulate it upstairs, so I am going to add a return register with filter. That seems reasonably straight forward, but I would also like to add a damper so in the winter time I can close/restrict it and not distribute cold air throughout the house. I know I could just replace the filter with some plywood, but I'm looking for something a bit more elegant.

Home Depot and Lowes sell plenty of round outbound dampers, but I can't find any rectangular ones.

Any ideas?

Yes, Johnstone. Some HVAC places can be funny about selling to the public, but I have never had any problems with Johnstone, just tell them you are with Normark Properties if they ask "Who are you with?". I just made up the name, but it sounds official enough that I don't get any pushback.

The guys are helpful there too. I took a squirrel cage blower there during the last snow storm and they helped me switch out the motor and figure out the new wiring since the colors were all different.

Thanks for the suggestions. Johnstone is close by, so I'll try there first.
