From now on we will refer to Turner, Jordan and Richard as "The Clampetts". I'll leave it to someone else to assign their new first names.

Think I'll go take a dip in the cement pond. :)

Trust me , patching up the house is not an option that stops them form entering. Unless steel sheathing is your intent. I've seen squirrels dismantle wood gable vents and remove soffit vents. They like to keep those teeth sharp. Also, at least in our case, they seem to prefer a warm dry attic to a nest in a tree. Go figure.

We've also had two incidents with animals in engine compartments - one ate through a couple of fuel injector leads and one split a fuel line. Both fairly easy fixes,
but nothing like going out to your car in the morning and smelling a pool of gasoline ...

Cline - We tried fox urine too. Didn't work ... Funny story, tried to buy it at Dick's Sporting Goods. Told the guy I wanted fox urine, he said they didn't have it. He asked what I wanted it for. Told him it got rid of squirrels. He said "I've got something that works better" and started showing me a .22 caliber rifle ..

Year to date tally here is now seven.

Frank

Unless we get flying squirrels I guess I'm safe. The nearest tree to my gable vent is about 100 yards away.

You're still not safe.... I followed one on the ground, jump up onto my deck, up a pole supporting a privacy panel, over the top of the panel, up onto the roof, across the roof and into the attic.

I've since reworked the privacy panel w/ a roof extension which cut off the path to the roof and have had the house re-roofed and filled in the gap.
