No, no, no, I won't sell it until I have sunk several grand and 10000000's of hours of my time in it to satisfy my inner anal retentive demon. THEN I'll get bored and sell it.

Lessons learned so far:

- Duraflex bumpers suck
- There are good companies out there "refurbishing" OEM bumper covers, the one I got looked brand new
- Suspension fluid is expensive
- Cary Auto Body does nice work on bumpers
- Why does the standard W220 tow hook cover cost $4 and the AMG version is $72 ?
- Active seat bolsters are initially creepy but over time are nice to have
- The ABC (active body control) is damn complicated but holy cow is it neat to have a 4300 lb car corner flat
- There are at least 5 pneumatically controlled systems in the car I have found so far, and amazingly all of them work (now that I fixed the seat system)
- Mercedes has kick-ass parts diagrams available with an online Java app for free
- Mercedes does NOT have any good service info available at a reasonable price
- Thank god gas is cheap
- 4 brake pads on the front axle are better than 2
- Factory bluetooth phone integration is a nicer feature than I thought it would be
- I wonder if I will ever find a good reason use the "raise suspension button". Manual says it's for dirt roads.
- Most people posting on Mercedes forums, while nice and helpful, don't know anything
And finally....
- It is just a car. Nothing has been a surprise or too hard to figure out.

All funnin' aside, I applaud you, sir. Most people would have put this back on Craigslist and cut their losses rather than tackle such a project. Well done. I've got a feeling you will keep this one for a year or two, anyway, as it would just be silly NOT to keep such a nice car that you have so much invested in learning.

Wouldn't mind hearing more details on how fixing the seat fixed all those other things, though. That sounds...crazy.
