if you take the caddy giesel body.and put the duramax and allison tranny in one.build as a street rod,that thing would be a sick sleeper.350-400 hp and 650 ft lbs torque stock,then turn up the fuel,and turbo adn stuff.600 hp and maybe 1000 ft lbs,in 4 k lbs, that would be absolutely sick,and not out of hte question.

Low red line will be a problem. It will be shifting as much as accelerating.

The duramax turns 4500 rpm.Four valve head,pushrod of course.NHRDA dot com,13 second street diesels.8k lbs and runs 13 in quarter mile.The record is mid 6s at 216 mph for a diesel powered rail,powerglide with overdrive.scheid has one that has a cummins..Hypermax diesel has a rail,with a dt466 international harvester diesel 6.Big mutha with triple turbos and nos.The rail weighs 3k lbs..1k lbs is engine.

The late model 7,3l turbo diesel,has a intercooler ours does not..And builds 300 hp and 500 ft lbs torque.

Chevelle with hot street duramax in her,high 11s at 120 mph quarter mile.You should watch how much that frame twists,under the 1k ft lbs torque.
