That's $33,383 on X-plan (which you can get with a $50 MCA membership).

The Ecoboost performance pack comes in at $26,712 on X-plan.

I'll be very interested to hear how this sorts out.

If you request a brochure, Ford will send you an additional $750 off almost any 2015.

I'm still up in the air. I want to like the 2015, but find myself wanting a 2012-2014 instead. After tracking my old 2011 I really don't care for the extra weight and IRS.

Apparently the apples to apples version/options difference is only 25-35 lbs.

Look at the thread starting with post 490 by The Pill and ending with 540 (so far)

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpos ... tcount=490

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpos ... tcount=540

FYI my 2012 automatic premium GT (8.5 inch wheels and standard GT brakes) weighs about 3627 with 5-6 gals of gas and the 40 lb total spare and jack in the car. For me the base GT plus performance pack might actually be lighter than my current car.

Never weighed my 11', but remember the good old days when my 08' "only" weighed 3380 in ax trim.

Capital Ford in Raleigh had a 2015 Ruby Red Premium GT automatic and a 2015 Magnetic Premium GT manual this afternoon. Neither has the performance pack. The Ruby Red looks just like I hoped. :D If you like a bit understated Magnetic also looks good.

Update on Saturday Nov 1:

Capital Ford has two Premium GT with Performance Pack 2015 Mustangs in stock this morning. The one I drove is Race Red. The other is Ruby Red. They also have an Ecoboost, probably premium without performance pack. Trans? They also still have the Magnetic color manual trans Premium GT.

Contact Scott Baum, 919-995-1278 and tell him I referred you and I'll split the $200 referral fee he offered me. This assumes the fee would be actual cash, of course. FYI I'm still very inclined to order a car but probably through Michael Sperber owner of Asheboro Ford.

Test drove a 2015 Camaro 2SS manual trans w/o 1LE. Great car but not for me for a variety of reasons.

FYI the December C&D has a comparison test between 2015 Mustang GT with PP, Scat Pack Challenger, and 1LE Camaro.

Sounds interesting, but I'm not in a rush to trade in my '07.. or my '90. That said, a friend has a GT PP on order for Dec delivery, and he's promised to let me take it for a spin. :D

Don't forget X-plan when you go shopping. Here are the current discounts on base prices:

Trim----------------------------MSRP----------X-Plan
V6 Fastback-------------------$23,600--------$22,836
EcoBoost Fastback------------$25,170--------$24,083
EcoBoost Premium Fastback--$29,170-------$27,567
GT Fastback-------------------$32,100--------$30,302
GT Premium Fastback--------$36,100--------$34,037

MCA (http://www.mustang.org) members are eligible. Or, if you join HCMC (http://hcmcstangs.com), our liason at Crossroads/Cary promises to offer a price almost as good as X-plan.

Thanks Art. Thanks to your hint regarding MCA and x-plan I asked Michael Sperber about using it to help with whatever deal he could otherwise make. I think he said it would be worth the $50 MCA membership. FYI when I bought my 01 and 12 Mustangs with special orders I got "invoice" which I think may be lower than x-plan. However, x-plan also seems to limit one or more other charges.

Normally I'm not an "early adopter" for cars but this time the lack of a locally, let alone nationally, competitive autocross car plus my "advanced age" are pushing me to act soon. Plus I really like the car and have some money from the CM sale "burning a hole in my pocket". :)

Will they not let this thread die?!? :D

Dick - I got a chance to sit in two 2015's at Crossroads/Cary last Thursday night. One was a GT premium, Race Red with the very nice standard seats, 20x9 wheels and useless spoiler appendage. The other was a GT premium PP in Magnetic. Both are very nice, though I think they'll be a little tight in the headroom dept for me+helmet, even with the seats motored down to the floor. Trunk seems to be a bit smaller than the current ones.

There was a lightly used 2014 GT in Ruby Red with Brembos and cloth seats. While the salesmen were looking the other way, I crawled under the back and spied a "3.73" sticker on the axle. Too bad.

All three were overshadowed by this very nice Shelby:

Art, regarding the trunk supposedly the new trunk is not smaller and has slightly lower lift over height, slightly more pass through vertical height between trunk floor and underside of "package tray" plus no axle hump. Headroom is not a concern with me other than all the wasted car height because the roof is so darn high.

Stay with your current car so I have an advantage if I get a 2015 and it is faster than my current "last in FS at THSCC events limo". :D FYI if I get a 2015 I'll have some 18x8.5 and 18x8 wheels (with TPMS), a 6/32 set of ZII's, and a Stranoparts adjustable rear bar for sale before next season starts.

Not changing cars fits my goals perfectly. Of course, there is that 1964 Galaxie XL fastback in the Boyd car collection at Crossroads. Red, 390 + 4-speed. Might need to upgrade from the skinny bias-ply whitewalls, throw one of those non-slip shelf liner sheets on the vinyl bench seat, and bribe the AX VPs to widen the gates just a smidge :)

What's the problem with 3.73s?

For a Mustang, autocross rubber typically has a smaller diameter than stock. Combine that with the shorter 2nd gear of the 6-speed transmission of the 2011+ models, and you'll run out of 2nd gear somewhere around 56 mph.

Ahhh, I figured it was something like that. Fomoco should have stuck with the 5spd - love mine with 3.73s.

Pretty sure the 5spd will bolt to the coyote engine.
