I was at the Nordschleife this weekend. Friday was a Holiday here; I drove to the Ring on that day. I went to Brunnchen when I arrived to watch cars pass on the track. There was a lot of people there watching. Then I try to go to where you can enter the track and it was all jammed up. The track was close so everybody had to go out and find a place to park. I finally found a place to park and went have a look, I check with RentaRaceCar if everything was ok for my reservation for Saturday. I show up early at the track on Saturday and by 8:15 I was starting my 1st lap, the track was still damp from the morning dew so one had to be careful. Since there were so much people on Friday I was expecting the same for Saturday. I set out to do most of my laps in the morning by 12:30 I had 10 laps done and it was good thing, the track close at that time so it was time for lunch. When the track reopen I did 1 lap but there was a lot of cars on the track, a little bit later I set out to do my last lap and when I had finish it they were closing the track again, took me like 15 min. to be able to get out of the track. I give the car back and went to gift shop. After I manage to get out of the parking I went to Adenau to watch the car pass there. After a short while the track close again.
The car I was driving was a Renault Clio RS 200, a hot hatch and like the name say had 200hp. The car had a double clutch transmission, it was the first time I was driving a car with that type of transmission it was strange at the beginning to not have a clutch pedal but it was fun to shift with the paddle. The car was fun, the handling was good maybe a little on the soft side for my taste, but predictable, the car was equip with Federal RS tire (140TW) no complaint there, they stay consistent even when I did back to back lap. In all I was happy with the car, this was a fun car to drive.
Sunday morning was all fog so the track was close for sure. I pick the right day to drive on track.

Wow! Very cool. The sun was brutal but the car sounds sweet. Thanks for sharing.

You could tell the track was damp in places. Especially in the shade. Likely trickier conditions than many would think. I am not surprised about the number of track closures.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
