New guy here

Hey guys, my name is Chad and I thought i'd introduce myself here since I was at my first meeting this month and after a not so clear vote you guys decided to let me in.

I heard about the club from a fellow co-worker James Milko. He might regret me finding out about it, only the future will tell.

Currently I have no real track or autocross experience but since buying my 2010 Camaro SS last year i've had the itch to drive it fast like most people do. So I knew I needed a safe and responsible way to do this and after spectating at the VIR HPDE THSCC just held it looked like a blast.

I signed up for the Hyperdrive event with NASA the first weekend of October, so that will be my first taste of VIR and with my Camaro on the track. My brother is also taking his own 2010 Camaro SS for the hyperdrive.

I'm married and my wifes name is Jessi, and we only have furry children of the non-human variety.

Other than cars I ride motorcycles as well and actually heading to the CCS festival of speed this weekend at VIR. I'm also looking into some clubs so I can get my bike on the track as well.

Anyway, i'm sure I will make plenty of new friends here and look forward to some fun times ahead.

Hey Chad, welcome. If you've talked to Milko, you pretty much know what to expect from this crowd. If you want to drive it hard and fast, you've come to the right place =)

This is where it started for most of us. Be warned - once you head down this rabbit hole, you may find yourself saving up money for entry fees, working very late in the garage, getting up at 5:30am on weekends, sleeping in your car at race tracks, etc.

Camaro ss,badass.Anyway,welcome to the club.I had no idea how to autocross when I started 14 years ago.Now look at me..Old pro,I think you will like track and autocros and rally cross.sometimes we go drag racing too,let the chevy loose! Track is cool,VIR is a riot.Full course i recommend,north course is realy cool.Patriot is cool if your small displacement and nimble.Roebling is a old fave of mine, someday i wanna take the old e30 out again!
Autocross is where i got my start too,did it for many many years.There are many mustangs,so its good to have a camaro again!

There is a old golf 3 for sale,Brett Murphy is selling it.i am sure someone will let you co drive their car.you would not be the only vw,we have Pitch Woolfolk who is rebuilding the motor in his old bug.Us in our mk4 golf,and Drew Oneil in his mk3 golf v6.Come party next meeting,no meet on dec .That is reserved for the awesome christmas party,but you gotta do some events first.So we can take pictures and laugh ! I must have spun my old sentra 5 or 6 times.Now I rally cross vws.Have fun man,look for a blue wrx in the parking lot at meetings,and various other events.Raleigh has a great dog park ,Spring Forest road raleigh.Freinds of millbrook dog park.I have a boxer .
