Doubtful that this crank will fit into the coyote block. my guess is that its an all new engine, or maybe its based on one of their racing blocks?
Either way, I suspect that the limited release in the GT350 is a way to limit their warranty liability if something goes majorly wrong with the new engine design. GM typically does the same thing by putting their newest engine creations in the vette and letting the trucks get the new engine a year or two later after some of the kinks have been worked out.
Camaros or other sports cars too actually, the Corvette got the LS3 in '08 and the Camaro in 2010. The Vette has the new Lt1 now and it's expected the 6th Camaro will get it in 2016. I think it was the same when the Pontiacs were around, with the original GTO getting the LS1 and then the LS2 and the G8 essentially the same as the Camaro got the LS3. I think it does eventually trickle down to the truck motors, just not as much of a performance motor with the hollow valve stems and such.
That flat plane V8 in the video does sound great, but it doesn't sound mustang. I'm a bit torn on that, i've always been a GM guy but man do I love the note the Mustangs have always made.
