Only a BMW owner would use '26K with no problems' as a benchmark for quality.

My wife's Fusion has 130K (almost perfect, I had to replace the thermostat) so it's almost 5 times as good right?

Well, it's been 3+ years of use. Surely the car will fail soon, right? Re our 330i -- it had one warranty claim in 50k miles and hardly any issues since, but of course it is doomed to immediately die on the side of the road. ;) I've had the M5 for 11 years and 64k miles now, autocrossed it, tracked it, and other than expected maintenance for such use, it's hardly needed attention. It did have one CEL though (horrors!) for a camshaft position sensor which went away, but I replaced the indicated one anyway. :)

On the other hand, there's Matt's Focus which didn't work after 4 miles. :P

(electrical issues are the worst)

My F350 burned up a IPC 20 minutes after I picked it up.

Ed Holloway's C6 Z06 lunched its motor at VIR only a few months after he bought it new. Chevy took the bar back to analyze the failure and politely informed him that even though it was a fault with the engine assembly, he was lucky he didn't have any aftermarket parts on the engine or a tune since they would have voided the warranty. :? He got a new engine, sold the car right away.

Correction, 6 miles.

I put about 30,000 miles and a dozen or more autocrosses on my one owner E46 M3 and the only issue I had was the accessory belt shredding and almost taking out the lower radiator hose. Other than that it was bulletproof and I sold it with 70,000 miles to buy something cheaper (the Si) when I found out how much daycare was going to run.

So I might be warming up to this whole technology in-a-car thing. I just configured the home link for the garage door opener and setup the blueteeth for the phone. WAY cool feature. Too bad it doesn't do text. Very nice to have the phone 95% hands free. Still have to hit the accept button

Homelink is over 15 years old Rodney so you aren't exactly on the cutting edge with the garage door opener.

Wanted to make sure it was a mature technology. I'm not an early adopter... 8)

Not really 15 year old technology. 15 years ago somebody decided you could integrate a $15 garage door opener (60's technology?) in to the headliner and charge $1500 for the option.

Here ya go! Have fun reliving the old days of computers too. :) Pretty neat how they've implemented these...try them.

Very nicely done. I like the drive noises and the change of pointer for some (Amiga for example). OS/2 Warp brought back some memories for me.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

No but you are a frequent adopter of old stuff. FYI you are, relatively speaking, not an old fart in my opinion.

I don't think my Mustang uses Homelink but it does have garage door openers integrated with the sun visor.

16 practice starts at the DC Pro today trying to figure out how to launch a 5.0 Mustang on ZII's after about 20 years of launching a FF on slicks. A lot to learn even before I get the car (finally) to the first turn.
